The 2026 Greek Tornado National Championship concluded with one final race sailed in light and highly unstable conditions, bringing an end to a championship that tested the fleet across a wide range of weather throughout the long weekend.
Despite an early charge from Panagiotis Tsaggetas and Giorgos Papadopoulos in the final race, the championship leaders Nikolaos Mavros and Polydoros Parianos once again demonstrated the consistency that has defined their campaign. Managing the difficult, shifty breeze, the reigning World Champions steadily worked their way back through the fleet to regain their position, ensuring that the overall standings remained unchanged and confirming a title that had effectively been secured during the previous days of racing.
Mavros and Parianos (GRE 86) therefore successfully defend their Greek National Championship title, adding another major achievement to a remarkable period that also includes their 2025 Tornado World Championship victory in Thessaloniki. Their performance throughout the regatta combined speed, consistency, and excellent decision-making across a variety of conditions.
Behind them, former World Champions Konstantinos Trigonis and Konstantinos Kazatzis secured second place overall, once again proving that experience and class remain formidable weapons. Panagiotis Tsaggetas and Giorgos Papadopoulos completed the podium in third.
The final overall standings were:
- Nikolaos Mavros / Polydoros Parianos – 4 pts
- Konstantinos Trigonis / Konstantinos Kazatzis – 7 pts
- Panagiotis Tsaggetas / Giorgos Papadopoulos – 13 pts
- Michalis Papadopoulos / Iordanis Paschalidis – 17 pts
- Giannis Diamantopoulos / Thanos Koumpanis – 17 pts
- Dimitris Skarlatos Poulis / Kyriakos Saridis – 24 pts
