Warm Welcome for Participants at the 2025 Tornado Open, Mixed and Youth European Championship Opening on Lake Attersee.
The European Championship on Lake Attersee began with a warm and festive welcome for the 29 participating teams coming from 9 different countries Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, San Marino as well as Australia. Athletes were greeted at the clubhouse of the Sailing Club and proudly presented with their national flags as they arrived.
The opening day featured the practice race, which was sailed in shifting winds at a steady force of 2 to 3 Beaufort. After an exciting battle on the water, the Italian team of Mirco Mazzini and Andrea Ciavatta claimed victory, crossing the finish line just two meters ahead of the German Tornado team of Nikolas and Markus Betz.
With this promising start, the stage is set for thrilling competition over the coming days on Lake Attersee.
