2025 Europeans – DAY 2

Tornado European Championship 2025 – Day 2, Attersee

Unfortunately, the second day of the Tornado European Championship on Lake Attersee did not bring any sailable conditions. After the helmsmen’s briefing at 09:30, the sailors waited patiently in the harbor all day. However, with bright sunshine and around 25 degrees, there was no wind, so no races could be started.

Despite the calm, there was no room for boredom: A French team spontaneously organized a swimming competition, which quickly developed into an entertaining highlight. In an improvised relay race with seven team members, everyone swam 200 meters – a welcome change that put everyone in a good mood.

The weather forecast for tomorrow is similarly difficult, with very light winds again. In order to make the most of the morning hours, the skippers’ meeting will be brought forward by half an hour. Up to three races are planned, conditions permitting. The championship is therefore already under time pressure and the tension is mounting as to whether enough races can be sailed for a valid classification.
