The last day of the Tornado World Championship in Rimini was nothing less than exciting. The wind picked up just in time for the final decisive race, reaching speeds of around 12 knots. This unexpected but welcome increase in wind brought momentum to the conclusion of the World Championship.
Zdenek Pavlis and his daughter Klara Pavlisova, who were in third place until this morning, were unfortunately unlucky. Their snuffer broke in the ninth race, meaning that the team from the Czech Republic was unable to finish the last two races. In the tenth and final race of the championship, the tension was palpable. Team AUT 995, Angelika K. and Calvin C., continued their strong performance and secured the top position in the mixed and overall rankings even with more wind. We congratulate our new doubles world champions on their title in the mixed and overall rankings.
