2024 Tornado Europeans – Day 3

Day 3 of the European Championship started again as planned at 1 pm after the championship had already been validated after the first two days. It was already clear the day before that the forecast predicted different conditions than usual. Lots of wind between 14 and 20 knots was the motto.

On the morning of the 3rd race day it was clear – the forecast was right. Big waves with 14 knots of basic wind in the first race plus rain.

These conditions shook up the previous ranking a little.
Yoann Trecul won the race with Thomas Ferrand. The Frenchman’s race win confirmed the performance of the previous days. Confident in all conditions. Markus and Nikolas Betz followed in 2nd place with a small gap.

3rd place went to Allan Gamble with Imke Jansen.

Shortly after the first race, the wind dropped to around 8-10 knots. But the wave remained. The challenge was to keep the boats calm. All in all, the third day brought variety to the championship so far and made it exciting for the following final. The day ended with an outstanding three-course dinner at the Quiberon sailing club. What a successful dinner and what a great day of sailing.
