The third day of the World Championship in La Grande Motte went differently than predicted. Today’s races took place under wind conditions with up to 20 knots of wind. The first race of the day was won by Konstantinos Trigonis with crew Konstantinos Kazantzis. In the second race the wind increased a bit more. Unfortunately only 14 of 24 teams could finish the second race due to boat damage or material problems. The winner was the team from France Yoann Trecul with crew Thomas Ferrand.
Afterwards the participants praised the dinner prepared for tonight at the sailing club of La Grande Motte.
Tomorrow there will be a lay day as planned. This will probably be used by some participants to repair their boats. Furthermore, some participants will make an excursion to visit the local shipyard.
