David Gunkel, our experienced Tornado crew and ITA Treasurer from the Segelclub Füssen took Pirat class sailor Tjark Kohberg for a spin on the Tornado catamaran.
They went on the GER 100 Tornado which is the ex gold medal boat of Fernando Echevarri from the 2008 Olympic Games. It was a perfect day for sailing with a great breeze blowing across the lake.
Tjark was invited by David to get the Tornado feeling under the new ITA motto “Tornado sailing with an expert”.
He said: “I am really surprised about the good speed and the safe handling of a Tornado catamaran”.
It was such great fun and i am sure i will come back next year and sail the Tornado in the Segelclub Füssen Forggensee.
Maybe I can find a good helmsman to sail some races?
