Some very sad news reached us from Cerna v Posumavi, our last Tornado European’s venue. At the age of 83, Mr. Alexander Jegorov has left us forever. He was the former chairman of YC Cerna v Posumavi, holder of a gold badge of Czech Sailing Association and a great yachtsman. Sasha was the founder of the Tornado class in Czechoslovakia and has always belonged to the yacht visionaries. He has compiled the first fixed wing sails on ice yacht, but also a foiling trimaran. He achieved the 15th place on international ranking for developments in the world ranking Hydrofoil. He has also build 3 Fireballs, 2 Europes, 1 Vaurien, 2 Tornados, 5 DN ice yachts and 1 Beluga. Even at a very advanced age, he promoted a modern view of the yachting and was able to rejoice in the top news.
