REG WHITE, OLYMPIC CHAMPION, WORLD CHAMPION, TORNADO LEGEND, PASSES AWAY WHILE SAILING
It is with great sadness that we heard about the passing away of Reg White (28 October 1935 – 27 May 2010).
Reg and John Osborn won the Gold medal for Britain at the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games, the debut of the Tornado as an Olympic class. He was also the Tornado World Champion in 1976 and 1979.
Reg, together with Terry Pearce and Rodney March, helped the Tornado to become Olympic and as the founder of Sailcraft built some of the best Tornados. He was considered the father of modern racing Multihull and had a huge influence on modern catamaran design. Reg and his family built other famous cats like the Shark, Spitfire and the Shockwave F18.
Reg’s family is in our thoughts. The sailing community lost a special friend and a great legend.

SAILING ACTION BEFORE AND AFTER THE WORLDS
Flens Super Sail will be a pre Worlds race that will happen on the 17th and 18th July in Kellenhusen. It is just 30km north of Travemunde and a great opportunity to start warming up for the Worlds.

Round Fehmarn Race will happen on 7th and 8th August. The race leaves from the WC boatpark in Travemunde and sails north to Fehmarn.
Movenstein Regatta will take place on 14th and 15th August in Travemunde. A nice race close to the beach of Travemünde.

TORNADO CLASS HAS A NEW PARTNER - DSB Deutsche Schlauchboot
It is with great pleasure that the ITA announces DSB Deutsche Schlauchboot as a partner for the Worlds and GP Races.
DSB will supply Sit-In racing marks and high performance RIBs and manpower. Media, sponsors and public will be able to watch and feel the racing action closer than ever.
