Excellent Tornado competition on the Chiemsee lake

Last weekend 29.04.-01.05.2016 the Open Tornado German Championship was held on the Chiemsee lake. Fraueninsel island was hosting competitors from six countries: Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Greece, Poland and Australia. The competition was scheduled for 3 days and 8 races were planned. Roland and Nahid Gaebler are the 2016 German Open champions after a great performance!! No more  races were completed today due to lack of wind, but the previous racing days in medium to light wind were really satisfying!! The German national championship for 2016 will be held during the 29th of April and the 1st of May from Wassersportverein Fraueninsel on te Fraueninsel on Lake Chiemsee! 8 bells for Roel de Groot

Roel started sailing catamarans about 25 years ago. His first boat was a Prindle 18-2, which he was sailing with his wife Petra Akkerman. Sad news from Cerna v Posumavi, CZE

Some very sad news reached us from Cerna v Posumavi, our last Tornado European’s venue. At the age of 83, Mr. Alexander Jegorov has left us forever.
